Many American Congregational conferences and associations included churches outside the United States. The national Yearbooks also included partner churches such as the American Missionary Association's work in the Caribbean.
Most of these Congregational and post-merger Congregational Christian and United Church of Christ congregations were in fifteen nations and territories. The featured nations and territories are Canada, the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Brazil, Kiribati, Nauru, the Marquesas Islands, Marshall Islands, and Micronesia. A few miscellaneous churches are also listed. Each area's entry includes a brief historical survey of the nation or territory, a history of religion and the churches there, and a summary for each local church.
A bibliography and indexes are included.
