Congregational Churches on the Plains concludes our complete historical survey of Congregational Churches in the United States.  It covers seven Midwestern States where Congregationalism has played an historic role.

New Features include nineteen maps, and several figures and illustrations. The summary history covers the first Congregational and Presbyterian congregations west of the Mississippi River, Indian missions and churches, bloody Kansas and the fight over slavery and much more.  A special section on ethnic churches discusses everything from German and Welsh to Samoan.

The Church directories document over 3,500 congregations including county locations, former names, founding dates, ecumenical arrangements, current affiliations and much more.  The church lists include Unitarian congregations founded by 1850 and post-merger Congregational Christian and United Church of Christ congregations.  States covered are Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

The 310 (+ viii) page book is a folio-sized paperback edition.
